"Mommy & Me - CNY is not just a club, it's your club" In addition to paying your annual dues, each Mommy & Me - CNY member is required to volunteer at least once per membership year in any of the following ways. Please contact the Membership Chairperson with any questions on these choices: Big Kids Do you have a "Big Kid?" In our group that means any kid between the ages four and ten. There is a committee that works together with the Big Kids Coordinator to plan events after school, on weekends and on school breaks. They will meet quarterly and sift through suggestions and then they call businesses, schedule events and/or sign up to host them as an RSVP mom. You'll find the current Big Kids Coordinator's name in our monthly newsletter. Give her a call today! RSVP Mom So, you'd like to be an RSVP Mom?! We need volunteers each month to host events for us. When you see a name and number on the calendar, that's who you call to RSVP for an event. The RSVP mom takes down your name and number, calls you back to confirm you'll be attending and if there's money to be collected at the event, she'll be there to do just that. In case an event reaches its limit of attendees, the RSVP mom starts a waiting list and calls those people back as space becomes available. To be an RSVP mom you do need to attend the event you've signed up for. You can also choose to host something at your house such as a play date, cooking date or holiday party. If there are costs involved with a craft, you can talk to your Activities Coordinators about supplies and expenses. Activities Committee The Activities Committee meets quarterly to plan out the calendar events for the next season. The Activity Coordinators are the heads of this group. They assign our volunteers the job of calling businesses and making arrangements for our events. Although the meetings are only four times a year, this is an ongoing commitment to get the calendar out in a timely fashion each and every month. Newsletter Have you been involved in a publication in high school or college? Do you like to write? Would you like to contribute to the monthly Mommy & Me Newsletter? Do you have some great ideas about what should be in this fantastic publication? There are groups that work on many of the different sections of the newsletter; and we would love it if you would like to join them. There is a newsletter mom that heads up these volunteers. You and your group would be responsible for developing and delivering your part of the newsletter in time for publication. Meals for Moms If you enjoy cooking for a crowd, please consider being a Meals For Moms volunteer. Each mom in our membership that brings a new baby home is offered up to three delicious meals, courtesy of our MFM volunteers. We also offer this benefit to families that might need some meals due to unforeseen medical emergencies. This is a great way to utilize your cooking talents while helping out a family in need!! Party Committee Is party planning your cup of tea??? Well Mommy and Me has 3 yearly parties and we are always in need of some assistance in planning. We plan, set up, host, and clean up a winter party, a summer picnic, and a fall harvest party each year. Since many of our parties involve hands-on activities for your children we often require a multitude of volunteers to assist in supervising and executing these events. We would love to hear from you so give your party coordinators a call today! |
